Jonalyn Padgett
Jonalyn Padgett Radical Hospitality Manager

Jonalyn and her husband, David, joined Acts 2 in 2010 and became connected in small groups and helping with greeting and welcoming. In March 2014, Jonalyn joined the Acts 2 staff as the Radical Hospitality Manager.

She grew up and graduated from high school in the small town of Okeene, OK.   She moved to Oklahoma City, working as an apartment manager and a secretary before getting a cosmetology license in 1980. From there, she started her own business as a Nail Tech, working at that business for 25 years both in Colorado and Oklahoma.

She met and married David Padgett in 1978. They have a blended family of three sons and a total of nine grandchildren.

What strengths do you feel you bring to Acts 2?

To bring others alongside me to do the work of making people feel important and loved – in other words – hospitality.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Visit with friends and family and sometimes nothing.

What made you decide to get involved in ministry work?

Ministry is a service, and that is definitely one thing I do well and enjoy. One Sunday, while talking with Chantelle, the position of Radical Hospitality Manager was born. Chantelle asked me if I knew of anyone who might be good at the position. I told her I would think about it and get back to her. Then it came to me, “I should apply for the position!”

Being on staff at Acts 2 is a God-inspired opportunity to expand on my desire to serve others. It is my ministry.

What inspires you?

God, family and friends!

Who is a hero of yours?

My mother.

What is something quirky about you?

I cook many times without a recipe and don’t write it down. Because I don’t measure and I don’t write it down, it is hard to make the same thing taste the same each time. I just make up the recipe as I go along.

What is your favorite Bible verse?

Matthew 22: 37-39

“Love the Lord, your God, with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind, This is the first and greatest commandment and the second is like it Love your neighbor as yourself.”
