More than 19 years ago (Yikes! That went fast!), I was looking through the newspaper when something odd caught my eye. It was an article about a new United Methodist Church NOT meeting on Sunday and NOT ensconced in their own building. My curiosity got the best of me… kind of like my cat who shot out the door last night, looking for a better land…but I digress. So I decided to go and check it out.

There was NO choir, NO organ, NO padded pews. What was there was much more important: genuine care, boundless energy, great excitement about what God would do with this new venture and a group of wonderful people who soon became like family! I learned how to hook up speakers and microphones to a soundboard, how to load up a kneeler on a dolly and get it where it needed to go, how to pack up a BIG pile of stuff into a SMALL closet. But more importantly, I discovered that when you work together and step out in faith, miracles happen.

As our church grew, we built our original building, outgrew it in short order, built our current worship facility and now we’re very short on space for our children and youth. I believe this is a vital next step for us. Many of us have seen how crowded we are and we know this limits our ability to serve more children. I don’t know about you, but I think the more Christians in this world the better!

I want to see a great place for our children and youth, as well as others in our community who will attend Acts 2 in the coming months and years. This is a great opportunity to grow the family of God. I hope you will consider taking this next step with me for our kids!
