One Church at Acts 2 is a church within a church. We are a new community for new people seeking to change the world with the love of God.

“I ask not only on behalf of these [disciples], but also on behalf of those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one. As you, Father, are in me and I am in you, may they also be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” John 17:20-21

Children's Check-In

At One Church, child check-in will begin in the gathering space outside the Acts 2 Chapel. At the check-in table, an identification sticker will be provided and necessary information will be collected including allergies and phone numbers.

Children under 3:

Infants to age 3 will be taken back to our nursery area and remain there until parent pick-up after the service. Parents will present the sticker they received upon check in to pick up their child.

Children 3 and older:
If children are potty-trained 3-year-olds up to 5th grade, they will come forward at children's moment and then leave with the children's ministry team. Kids are brought back to worship after the sermon, during the offering time.

Meet Pastor Andy

Thank you for checking out our website! We are passionate about One Church and it’s exciting that others are interested! I am excited to tell you a little more about my family so you can get to know us better.

My wife, Melissa, and I met when we were 10 years old at Coweta First United Methodist Church in Coweta, the small Oklahoma town where we grew up. We started dating when we were 12 and dated all through junior high, high school and into college and were married on Aug. 8, 2009.

In those early days we were young, passionate and had big dreams for what God had in store for us. I started working at Nichols Hills United Methodist Church as the Youth Director and then as the Associate Pastor. I also started work on my Master of Divinity at Saint Paul School of Theology. Melissa was working for the Oklahoma Multiple Sclerosis Society and then came to work as the Children’s Director at Nichols Hills UMC.

As our ministry continued to change and grow, our family also grew, first, with the addition of our dog, Bailey, and, then, with the addition of our daughter, Annaleigh “Anna,” in April 2013. I was a new dad, a new pastor and a seminary student trying to figure out what God was going to do with my life. It was during this time, while in a seminary class, I heard a presentation from a “church planter” (pastor who starts a new church). Melissa and I both felt God was calling us to this kind of ministry and we began a process of discerning and praying together.

That next year, I graduated from Saint Paul and we came to Acts 2 United Methodist Church to learn under Rev. Dr. Mark Foster who started Acts 2. Our family continued to grow with the birth of our son Elijah in February 2016.  As we continue learning and growing, we feel called to start a new community right here with Acts 2.  We feel called to start a new community for new people. We feel called to start a new community for people who maybe don’t like going to church. We feel called to start a new community that will help change the world. We feel called to start One Church.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is One Church?

One Church at Acts 2 is a church within a church meant to reach new people.

Why is Acts 2 starting One Church?

Put simply, new things reach new people. When Acts 2 looked at where the congregation lives, we found that most of them live outside Acts 2’s immediate vicinity. One Church aims to reach the people that live in our neighborhood and other new people in our area with the love of God.

How is One Church different from Acts 2?

One Church meets on Fridays at 6:30 p.m. in the Acts 2 Chapel. The hope of One Church is to reflect the demographic of the neighborhoods in our immediate area. The worship services are created to be comfortable, relatable, and non-intimidating, so everyone will feel welcomed and accepted. One Church still carries the core values (DNA) of Acts 2 and will not differ from the vision with which Acts 2 was founded – a new church for new people.

Why the name, “One Church”?

In the Gospel of John Jesus prays, “I ask not only on behalf of these [disciples], but also on behalf of those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one. As you, Father, are in me and I am in you, may they also be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me” (John 17:20-21).  One Church’s goal is to bring people together and offer authentic community in order to better serve the world. One Church is a place where all people can be welcomed and accepted and empowered to change the world with the love of God.
