High Tech Jesus

A Reading & Reflection from Dr. Robert Gorrell:
“Better than Us,” is a Russian series on Netflix. The story is set three years from now. The main character is a robot named Arisa. Arisa has been designed to protect her owner at all costs. Arisa meets a little girl named Sonja, accidentally connecting with her and becoming her protector. Then, almost magically, we watch the robot and child bond. Sonja is innocent, kind and loving. Arisa learns these qualities from Sonja and begins to emulate them.

Lost, Found, and Welcomed Back

A Reading & Reflection from Courtney Blacksten:

It wasn’t the location or the work that made it unforgettable—it was the community we built. With no electricity, our phones stayed packed away, and we spent our evenings around the campfire. We talked, laughed, shared stories from the day, shared about our lives and by the end of the week, our group became a close-knit family.
