Lent is the season leading up to Easter when Christians seek to live more intentionally and refocus on following Jesus. This season, we have three great small groups that will help you grow in your faith. Learn more about each small group and sign up below.
Practicing the Way
Led by Rev. Tim Travers
Sundays at 9:15 a.m. beginning February 18
Investment: $20 for book – Practicing the Way by John Mark Comer
Following Jesus is much more than just believing certain things—it’s about a whole new way of living as Jesus’ apprentice. This small group study will help participants learn to apprentice to Jesus and practice his way by being with Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and doing as Jesus did. This study will also go along with the sermon series during Lent.
Led by Rev. Brandon Blacksten
Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. beginning February 21
Investment: $15 for book – Sacred Rhythms by Ruth Haley Barton
Most of us want to experience the power of God’s transformation in our lives, but we’re not sure how. Yet we can create the conditions for transformation to take place by creating a rhythm of sacred habits in our lives—practices like solitude, prayer, and sabbath. This study focuses not just on learning about these sacred habits, but actually putting them into practice in our daily lives.
Led by Dr. Robert Gorrell
Sundays at 10:45 a.m. beginning February 18 or Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. beginning February 21
Investment: $10 for book – Called: Hearing and Responding to God’s Voice by Susan Robb
God gives each of us gifts and passions that we can use to bless and serve the world. If you feel like God is calling you to take a new step in service, or if you want to serve but aren’t sure where to start, this class will help you identify your gifts and find ways to serve in the church and in the world.
