This June, take time to serve by reading with children. Acts 2 is providing volunteers to read with children through Project Transformation June 24, 26, & 27 (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday) from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old, and we will meet at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church (2717 W Hefner Rd in Oklahoma City).

Project Transformation is a ministry of the United Methodist Church in Oklahoma. This organization organizes summer literacy camps in area churches for children in low-income communities. The camp not only gives children the opportunity to read to caring adults, but also provides breakfast, lunch, and a snack, and teaches strong values to improve the children’s lives. Project Transformation successfully improves reading scores, test grades, and relationships between churches and their communities.

You are invited to volunteer for one or all four of the days. Childcare is available at Acts 2 on Thursday, June 27, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. If you have any questions, please contact Rev. Brandon Blacksten.
