Our world seems devoted to endlessly pursuing more. Even when we know better, we can still find ourselves pursuing the good life through accumulating possessions and wealth. When Jesus said there is more joy in giving than in receiving, he turned our vision of the good life on its head. Through the practice of generosity, we tap into God’s joy, find freedom from greed through contentment, and embody God’s concern for those in need. This four-week study will help participants:
- Lean into Jesus’ teaching that there is more joy in giving than receiving
- Identify and combat the culture of consumerism and greed
- Embrace the biblical concept of stewardship in all areas of life
- Develop a heart for the poor and marginalized
- Create a sustainable plan for generous living
