A Community Conversation about Domestic Violence
Wednesday, April 30 | 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Childcare available with registration below | Youth are encouraged to attend
Domestic violence is a hidden crisis in our communities — one that affects individuals and families across all backgrounds. Oklahoma consistently ranks among the highest in the nation for rates of domestic violence and for the number of women killed by men in single-victim, single-offender incidents. This is not someone else’s problem — it’s ours to confront, together.
At Acts 2, we believe the church must be part of the solution. That’s why we’re hosting The Hidden Crisis: A Community Conversation about Domestic Violence — a night of honest dialogue, powerful testimony, and shared commitment to healing.
The evening will feature:
-
Remarks from General Michael Thompson (RET)
-
Youth Q&A with our featured speaker
-
Panel discussion with leaders from the YWCA, Palomar, and Acts 2 UMC
-
Childcare for infants through 5th grade with registration
We invite you to join us as we listen, learn, and explore how we can respond with love, resources, and advocacy.
For more information, please contact Special Projects Coordinator April Yarholar.
Together, we can break the silence and bring hope into the places it’s most needed.
